Macro nutrients are those elements which you find in quantities greater than 0.1% of the dry matter. The three main elements are:

Carbon (C)
Hydrogen (H)
Oxygen (O)

These three main elements represent the Organic Matter (OM) together with other elements used as fertilizer. Namely:

Major elements
Nitrogen (N)
Potassium (K)
Phosphorous (P)

Minor elements
Calcium (Ca)
Magnesium (Mg)
Sulfur (S)

Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen are found in air and water. Other elements need to be added as mineral elements.

A plant producing fruits or vegetables needs to replace the macro nutrients used to produce those fruits or vegetables. For such plants a regular provision of macro nutrients is therefore necessary in order to obtain the best results. Without those macro nutrients a plant will stop growing, show huge deficiencies over time or stop producing any fruits or vegetables.

Our organic fertilizer Chai contains high levels of Macro nutrients particularly Phosphorous and Calcium.
